Hikmet Hajiyev: USAID's Operations No Longer Welcome in Azerbaijan
During her visit to Armenia, Samantha Power, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator, recently met with Armenian representatives who left Karabakh. She wrote on "X" that the US is announcing an additional $4 million to help these displaced people.
Aykhan Hajizada, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, wrote on "X" that an attempt to present the migration of Armenian residents from the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan to Armenia as a forced movement is baseless and unjust. According to him, there was no single word on the presence of illegal Armenian armed forces in the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan for almost 30 years, even in the post-conflict stage, contrary to international law and the obligations of Armenia. He said that notwithstanding the ten times larger number of Azerbaijani IDPs, there was no single visit at the level of USAID Administrator during the almost 30-year-long occupation to study the dire situation of Azerbaijanis.
Hikmet Hajiyev, the Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan, said, "During 30 years long occupation of Azerbaijan's land by Armenia when million more Azerbaijanis were subject of notorious and bloody ethnic cleansing the United States stood with aggressor state of Armenia. Nowadays, the same policy continues in the same form and manifestation. Pretending academic or professional impartiality would be incorrect, as professor of 'Human Rights' Practice at the University Samantha Power, in her propaganda book 'A Problem from Hell': America and the Age of Genocide (2002)' passed in complete silence over the genocide and atrocities committed by Armenia against innocent Azerbaijani civilians."
"Under the umbrella of Aurora Prize, Samantha Power came together with the founder of this fund, notorious oligarch and money launderer Ruben Vardanyan, who also financed separatism in Ukraine. Interestingly, in 2019, European Parliament members demanded sanctions against Troyka Dialogue Banker(s) founder - Ruben Vardanyan for money laundering schemes. Ruben Vardanyan was also planning a coup d'etat against the United States-supported political leadership of Armenia after having established himself in Karabakh in October 2022. Azerbaijanophobia, Turkphobia, political corruption, moneytalkism, and political speculations under the so-called Aurora prize were probably shared values and interests between Ruben Vardanyan and Samantha Power," he added.
"Mask Off! There is no place for USAID operation in Azerbaijan any longer!" Hajiyev concluded.
