According to the de-facto Ministry of Health of the self-proclaimed Republic of Abkhazia, from November 18 to November 29, 780 people were vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine.
The department said that the number of vaccinated in Abkhazia reached 12,491. 5,211 people were vaccinated with Sputnik Light.
As previously reported, vaccination with Sputnik Light has been suspended in Abkhazia, with the remaining doses used only for the second vaccination.
More than 1,200 people have been vaccinated in the self-proclaimed republic of South Ossetia. This was announced by the head of the outpatient medical centre Tamara Sanakoeva.
"Since November 12, 196 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus at the polyclinic of the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Centre of South Ossetia, of which 138 patients were vaccinated with Sputnik Light and 58 with Sputnik V," Sanakoeva said.
The population of Abkhazia is, according to local authorities, more than 240 thousand people, South Ossetia - about 53 thousand. Accordingly, in Abkhazia, about 5.2% of residents are vaccinated against coronavirus, in South Ossetia - about 2.3%.
The number of detected cases of coronavirus in Abkhazia is 34 793 (about 14.5% of the population), in South Ossetia - 9 850 (about 18.6% of the population).
