Irakli Garibashvili Meets Azerbaijani Justice Minister, Commander of US European Command, and Binance CEO

Meeting with the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan

On December 1, Irakli Garibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, met Fikrat Mammadov, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Press Office of the Georgian government reported.

The discussion was related to the current relations and prospects of a future partnership between the two countries, along with the recent visit of Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to Georgia, once again evidencing the outstanding relations existing between Georgia and Azerbaijan and truly adding a great momentum to the cooperation between the two countries.

Diplomats spoke about the current situation in the region. Dialogue and its significance in conflict resolution were highlighted at the meeting. It was noted that peaceful neighborly initiative towards this end might serve as a solid basis for increasing trust and credibility. Attention was paid to the trade and economic relations between the nations. It was noted that Azerbaijan is a leading country among the key trading partners of Georgia. Readiness was expressed toward deepening these ties further.

Meeting with the Commander of US European Command

On the same day, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with General Christopher Cavoli, the Commander of the US European Command.

The head of Government thanked the General for supporting the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration and emphasized the importance of his visit. The parties discussed prospects of future cooperation. According to the Prime Minister, European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as a strategic partnership with the US, is the country’s top priority, and the support of the Allies becomes especially important in this direction. At the meeting, Irakli Garibashvili affirmed his commitment to supporting and contributing to NATO's efforts toward strengthening security in the Black Sea Region.

The conversation touched on the support of the US for enhancing Georgia's defense capabilities, and the country's contribution to common Euro-Atlantic security was pointed out. It was noted that, over the past two decades, Georgia had been actively participating in NATO-led international missions and that the country is ready to stand by NATO's allies and other partner countries to support North Atlantic security.

Meeting with BINANCE CEO

On November 30, Irakli Garibashvili met Changpeng Zhao, Co-founder and CEO of Binance, the biggest cryptocurrency exchange.

The discussion focused on positioning Georgia as the center of cutting-edge financial innovations and its importance, as well as the country's advantageous location and innovation-focused government. It was also observed that the country's stable and hospitable economic environment provides tremendous potential for investors. Readiness for future collaboration was also indicated at the meeting.

According to Irakli Garibashvili, the Georgian government is ready to support and facilitate FDI to a great extent, and the nation's legal framework is prepared to regulate cryptocurrency exchanges.
