Irakli Kobakhidze: "Georgian President is Under Saakashvili's Party Influence"
Irakli Kobakhidze, the chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, said that Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili, who supported the protests in the country from the United States, is under the influence of ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili's United National Movement party.
"Statements that are incomprehensible to us are being made on her part. The 'global war party' has its own rather large resource and, naturally, under this influence, statements and positions are expressed, which Ms. Salome fixes," Kobakhidze said.
"Do you remember the fascist campaign carried out then against Salome Zourabichvili? Then it was deciphered that this person had nothing to do with the National Movement," Kobakhidze stressed. However, according to him, over time, the positions and statements of the President have changed.
