Kadyrov Reveals Extent of Chechen Involvement in Russia-Ukraine War

On July 27, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, announced that since the beginning of Russia's special military operation [Russia's full-scale war] in Ukraine, more than 28,000 fighters, including more than 13,000 volunteers, have been sent from the Chechen Federal Republic to the combat zone.
"Over 7 thousand fighters are currently at the forefront," he added. "Currently, Chechen units are involved along the entire front line. The Bakhmut and Orekhovskoye directions are considered the most difficult sectors, where the enemy regularly makes attempts to break through the defense line. Despite the difficulties, our guys successfully repel enemy attacks, cutting off any opportunity to take advantageous positions," Kadyrov said.
He also emphasized that representatives of the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation have repeatedly noted the high combat capability and effectiveness of the Akhmat units.
