National Security Service of Armenia to Investigate Involvement of Armenian Citizen in Attack on Crimean Bridge After Russia's Accusations

| News, Armenia

The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia appealed to the National Security Service (NSS) of the republic in connection with reports of the alleged involvement of an Armenian citizen in the attack on the Crimean bridge. The Prosecutor's Office studied the reports spread by Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB).

Given that these messages contain information indicating an evident crime, the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia redirected them to the Investigation Department of the National Security Service, instructing them to resolve the issue of initiating a criminal case.

"Within the framework of legal mechanisms, including through the institution of international legal mutual assistance, the Armenian supervisory authorities will be consistent in fully disclosing the circumstances of the incident. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic will provide additional information on the results," the report stated.

On October 12, the Russian FSB said that the organizer of the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge was the head of military intelligence of Ukraine. "The explosives were delivered from Odesa through Bulgaria, Georgia, and Armenia. As part of the criminal case, citizens of Russia, Ukraine, and Armenia have already been detained (Arthur Terchanyan, born in 1985). The FSB found out that the cargo with disguised explosives for the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge ended up in the truck as a result of the substitution of documents during customs clearance of the cargo in Yerevan," the FSB stated.
