Putin Expresses Confidence in Further Strengthening Ties with Separatist Abkhazia
In his congratulations on "the Victory and Independence Days of Abkhazia," Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence in further building up constructive ties to strengthen regional stability and security, the de-facto Press Service of Aslan Bzhania, Abkhaz separatist leader, reported.
On September 30, separatist Abkhazia celebrates the 29th anniversary of the victory in the Georgian-Abkhaz war of 1992-1993. The Press Service reported that Putin congratulated his Abkhaz colleague Aslan Bzhania and the people of the [separatist] republic.
"Dear Aslan Georgievich, please accept my warmest congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Abkhazia—Victory and Independence Day. Russian-Abkhaz relations are developing based on the principles of alliance and strategic partnership. I am sure that by joint efforts we will be able to further build up the entire range of constructive bilateral ties for the benefit of our fraternal peoples, in the interests of strengthening regional stability and security," the message of congratulation said.
Putin wished Bzhania success and all the citizens of Abkhazia peace and prosperity.
