There can be no "sovereign corridor" in the territory of Armenia, the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia said, speaking about the opening of communications in the region after the Second Karabakh War.

"We need to understand the logic of the corridor. We have already stated that there can be no sovereign corridor in the territory of Armenia," Armen Grigoryan said in an interview with Public Television. "Perhaps corridors or roads will be opened in Armenia that Azerbaijanis or Turks can use to communicate with Azerbaijan."

The official stressed that the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia are discussing the issue of unblocking the entire road infrastructure, not the corridor.

"At this point, we are more inclined to use the existing infrastructure, i.e. the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Baku-Russia railway, as well as the Yerevan-Nakhchivan-Julfa, which almost does not require investment in infrastructure," said Grigoryan.

After meeting with President Putin in Sochi, the Turkish president said the 'Zangezur Corridor' would be an important opportunity for the entire region. According to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijan is working hard to implement this corridor, and the Armenian side must "fulfil" its obligations.

Azerbaijan and Armenia have different positions on the 'Zangezur Corridor'. Ilham Aliyev described the November 10 agreement's mention of the 'Zangezur Corridor' as a "historic achievement,” while Yerevan does not admit that there is such an article on opening 'Zangezur corridor'.
