Meeting between Toivo Klaar and Nikol Pashinyan

On October 29, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, the Press Office of the Armenian Prime Minister reported.

The interlocutors attached importance to the deployment of the EU civilian mission in Armenia and referred to the mission's activities. The sides exchanged thoughts on the issues of regional security, peace, and stability, the steps taken in that direction, and the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Issues related to the unblocking of regional transport infrastructures and the work of border security and delimitation commissions were also discussed.

Meeting with Armen Grigoryan

On October 28, Armenia's Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan received Toivo Klaar.

The two diplomats discussed the steps taken by the EU's monitoring mission deployed along Armenia's border with Azerbaijan and the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization process.

The meeting was also attended by Andrea Wiktorin, the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.

Meeting with Ararat Mirzoyan

On October 28, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, the Press Office of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, the interlocutors referred to the issues of regional security and stability. They exchanged views on issues related to the elaboration of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Ararat Mirzoyan and Toivo Klaar emphasized the importance of deploying the EU civilian mission and touched upon its activities. The sides also exchanged views on the unblocking of regional transport infrastructure, as well as the work of the commissions on border security and delimitation.

"Ararat Mirzoyan reaffirmed the need for eliminating the consequences of Azerbaijan's recent aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia, particularly the withdrawal of Azerbaijani armed forces from the sovereign territories of Armenia," the report said.

Telephone conversation between Jeyhun Bayramov and Karen Donfried

On October 28, a telephone conversation was held between Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, and Karen Donfried, the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs of the United States of America, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

During the telephone conversation, views on the current situation and prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as various issues of the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the United States, were exchanged.

"Minister Jeyhun Bayramov brought to the attention of the other side the current situation in the region, various directions of the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the known position and proposal of Azerbaijan in the direction of starting work on the future peace agreement, as well as the steps taken by Azerbaijan. The minister pointed out that as a result of the Geneva meeting, an answer is still awaited from the other side regarding the elements of the peace agreement presented to Armenia," the statement added.

Karen Donfried emphasized that the United States supports efforts to ensure regional peace and stability. She said that it is important to advance the peace process through the agreements reached between the leaders and ministers.
