Meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister

On October 20, Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received Joshua Huck, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as the regional situation in the post-conflict period and the prospects of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, were discussed. "Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed the other party in detail about the current situation in the region and emphasized the importance of ending the existence of the Armenian armed forces and the separatist regime, which are the remnants of the 30-year occupation period and the main source of threat, as a result of the anti-terrorist measures taken by Azerbaijan," the report said.

"The signing of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the removal of one of the biggest obstacles to the process of reintegration of residents of Armenian origin living in the Karabakh region, was reported. The minister noted that in the current conditions created for peace in the region, our country is determined to advance the peace agenda, as always, and the importance of the constructive position of the international community in this regard," the information concluded.

Meeting with Azerbaijani President

On the same day, Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received Joshua Huck, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani President reported.

They exchanged views on ensuring peace and stability in the region and the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan's intention regarding the regional peace agenda, normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the continuation of negotiations on the peace treaty and its signing soon.
