Military Parade
On May 28, Armenia held a large military parade in Yerevan’s Republic Square to mark Republic Day, staging its most significant public military display in years and the first such parade in nearly a decade.
The event featured marching units of the Armenian Armed Forces alongside a wide range of military equipment, including armored vehicles, artillery systems, air defense assets, drones, and other modern systems. A notable aspect of the display was the presence of equipment sourced from multiple partners, including France and India, as well as domestically developed systems, reflecting Armenia’s ongoing efforts to diversify its defense procurement and modernize its armed forces.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the Armenian military’s primary mission is the defense of the country’s internationally recognized borders and underlined the continuation of defense reforms following recent regional conflicts. He described the occasion as part of a broader transition period in Armenia’s security and state development.
