Yerevan Calls for Bolstering EU Observation Mission in Armenia
On April 28, Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan stated that Armenia suggests expanding the capabilities of the EU observation mission in Armenia.
"Their current number is not enough for effective monitoring of Armenia’s international borders with Azerbaijan. We propose that our partners increase the number of EU observers deployed in Armenia as well as their other capabilities so that observers can provide better monitoring," Grigoryan added.
Notably, the European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) is a civilian mission launched on February 20, 2023. EUMA has an initial mandate of 2 years with the possibility of extension, and its operational headquarters are based within Armenia.
