| News, Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh

According to officials in Nagorno-Karabakh, the population of Hramort/Pirlar village of Khojaly is being evacuated. The reason for this, according to a source who introduced himself as an "Artsakh Information Center," offical is the transfer of Azerbaijani forces to the village of Farrukh (Parukh in Armenian).

Eduard Sharmazanov, a spokesman for the Republican Party of Armenia and former vice-speaker, said on 24 March that the Azerbaijani army had taken full control of the village of Parukh/Farrukh.

Armenians consider the territory of Khojaly within the administrative territory of Askeran. "The situation is not good," village head Zorik Abrahamyan told.

According to the Armenian centre, Russian peacekeeping forces are holding talks with the Azerbaijani army.

The head of Farrukh/Parukh village, Vardan Mkhitaryan, stated: "they (Azerbaijani servicemen) entered the village from different directions, without firing, creating a human chain."

Azerbaijan has denied the allegations and said no incidents were committed by the Azerbaijani army.

“Information spread by Armenian sources about the situation along the territory of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily stationed, have allegedly escalated does not reflect the reality.

Positions and deployment locations are being clarified on spot, no clashes or incidents have occurred.

The situation is artificially exaggerated by Armenian sources. The purpose is to create an atmosphere that can trigger deliberate hysteria, confus[ion], and mislead the public.

There is no reason to worry or panic.

The units of the Azerbaijan Army completely control the operational situation,” statement came from Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
