Azerbaijan opened special representative office in Tel Aviv and signed tourist cooperation agreement with Israel

Azerbaijan and Israel have inked a tourist cooperation agreement, according to Azerbaijani State Tourism Agency Chairman Fuad Naghiyev. "With our Israeli colleague Yoel Razvozov, we inked an agreement on tourist cooperation. This arrangement, I believe, will help to the growth and strengthening of bilateral tourist links," Naghiyev wrote on Twitter.

The parties will expand their cooperation in historical, digital, ecological, and adventure tourism, as well as promote trips to cultural heritage and religious sites, under the terms of the agreement. The agreement will build linkages between the two nations' tourist authorities, groups, organisations, and businesses.

The agency had previously announced the inauguration of its formal representation in Tel Aviv's Herbert Samuel Dock. The new office symbolises Azerbaijan's goal of embracing change and inviting visitors to take a fresh look at what the country has to offer in this new era.

Naghiyev stated during the office's opening ceremony in Tel Aviv on March 30 that the new tourist office in Israel will strengthen Azerbaijani-Israeli tourism connections. He noted that the actions of the delegation would serve to increase awareness of Azerbaijan in Israel and improve bilateral tourist connections.

The Israeli tourism minister remarked at the occasion that the inauguration of Azerbaijan's trade mission and tourism office in August 2021, as well as the Tel Aviv office, would help to deepen bilateral relations and boost tourism links between the two countries. During the expo, meetings with important partners were made to make new contacts and collaborate in order to meet more Israeli visitors in the near future.

Meanwhile, Israel's ambassador to Azerbaijan, George Deek, praised the establishment of the Tel Aviv tourism office. "Azerbaijan establishes its Tourism Representative Office in Israel - a significant step forward in our bilateral ties," he tweeted.
