Justice Minister of Armenia met with Georgia's Prime Minister and his counterpart in Tbilisi
Karen Andreasyan, Armenia's Justice Minister, met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and his counterpart Rati Bregadze in Tbilisi.
According to the Georgian Government's press agency, Minister Andreasyan and Prime Minister Garibashvili emphasised their willingness to expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of justice, human rights, and public services.
In addition, the two officials discussed the security situation in the South Caucasus in the context of Russia's conflict against Ukraine, with both parties emphasising the necessity of joint efforts to ensure regional peace and stability.
In the meanwhile, Minister Andreasyan and his Georgian colleague Rati Bregadze launched the Georgian-Armenian Legal Forum, a forum for collaboration between the two ministries on issues such as notary services, e-government, and prison and probation reforms, among others.
Earlier, as the newly appointed foreign minister of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili began a series of visits and initiated several phone calls with the country’s strategic partners and neighbours. Within the framework of his official visit to Armenia on April 29-30, the FM met with the President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturian. Darchiashvili thanked Khachaturian for the high interest and actions expressed in the issue of further deepening of relations between the two countries.
The two sides praised the close friendly relations between Georgia and Armenia and reviewed the positive dynamics in all areas of bilateral cooperation. The Georgian FM also thanked the Armenian leadership for the unwavering support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and stressed the importance of peace and stability for the sustainable development of the region.
