Iranian Officials and Media Threaten Azerbaijan
A special event was held in Iran to examine Israeli-Azerbaijani relations
ATNA news agency and Abrar-e Modern Research Institute hosted a specialized meeting on Israel-Azerbaijani relations in Tehran at Allama Tabatabayi University.
The people who spoke at the event were former Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsun Pakayin, Iranian expert on the Caucasus region Rasul Ismayilzadeh, former Cultural Attaché of Iran in Nakhchivan Seyyed Reza Mirmohammadi, and Azerbaijani expert Orkhan Mahammadov (hiding in Iran and making strong anti-Azerbaijani speeches). The event's presenter was Ehsan Muvahhedian, a teacher at Allama Tabatabayi University and editor-in-chief of ATNA news agency.
An Iranian expert threatened Ilham Aliyev
Mehda Nalbandi, an Iranian expert who often makes anti-Azerbaijani statements, reacted to Ilham Aliyev taking a photo with a mock-up of the Azerbaijani flag [in the souvenir Zangazur/Syunik was reflected as Azerbaijani territory] two days ago on his Twitter page.
In the post he shared, he wrote: Mr. Aliyev! Did you stick the fake Badkuba (Baku) on the model of Zangazur to close the Iran-Armenia border? First: Do not be at enmity with (Imam) Ali. Read the fate of the Tsar. Second: Read Mahammad Amin Rasulzade's [the first head of Azerbaijani Democratic Republic in 1918] book. Atatürk sold Rasulzade to Stalin. Conclusion: We will not make any deal with Iran. If necessary, we will go back to the beginning of the Gulistan and Turkmenchay agreement [Russia and Iran divided Azerbaijani khanates to North and South]."
Iranian Mullah: "The Azerbaijan state's restrictions on mourning ceremonies have no result other than destruction"
Mohammad Taqi Purmohammadi, Imam of the city of Maragha, East Azerbaijan province, allegedly claimed that strict measures were taken against the holding of mourning ceremonies related to the month of Muharram in Azerbaijan and said: "Although many governments throughout history tried to oppose the Shiites, this only humiliated them and has wasted."
Mohammad Taqi Purmohammadi said: "The people of Azerbaijan are Shiites, and the scholars of this country are considered the pride of the Islamic world. If you want to have a place and value among your own people, respect their wishes and saints." According to him, communists fought against religion in Azerbaijan for 70 years during the Soviet Union, but they failed.
Iranian state television: "Puppet of the Zionists"
The official website of Iran's IRIB News state television and radio company widely covered the following anti-Azerbaijani action and wrote: "The people of Galandarabad settlement of Fariman city organized an action in support of the 'oppressed' Shiites of Azerbaijan. The action participants expressed their support for the Azerbaijani Shia lady Shahla Farajova."
They also said that Azerbaijani is a Zionists' puppet state.
Iranian MP on religion and Zionists in Azerbaijan
Ruhullah Mutafakir Azad, the MP of the Iranian Parliament, elected from Tabriz city, tried to express a unique political attitude to holding religious ceremonies related to the month of Muharram in Azerbaijan.
Thus, he used the hashtag "Seyyida Shahla" on his Twitter account, referring to Shahla Farajova, who lives in the Bina settlement of Baku and painted the walls of her private house red and wrote "Ya Huseyn" on it and as an excuse to interfere in the internal affairs of countries other than religion in Iran.
He said: "The Soviet communist system could not survive because it wanted to destroy the religious essence of the peoples under its oppression." "There are a number of rules for governing the Shia people, which require not only to respect the flag of Imam Hussain but also to prevent people like the Zionist youths," said the Iranian MP, implicitly hinting at Azerbaijan.
Threats to Azerbaijan from an Iranian Parliamentary Official
Ahmad Naderi, a Member of the Presidium of the Iranian Parliament, shared a photo of Shahla Farajova, who painted the wall of her private house red in the Bina settlement of Baku and wrote "Ya Huseyn" on it with the hashtag "Seyyida_Shahla" on his Twitter account.
An MP of the Islamic Council of Tehran province, who distorted the official name of Azerbaijan and wrote "Baku government," shared a post full of threats against Azerbaijan. "The government of Baku is following the path that Peshawar followed by banning funeral ceremonies and rituals for Imam Hussain. Ashura is the central point of the identity of the Azerbaijani people. Hopefully, this will end soon, and the flag of Imam Hussain will fly across Araz," he wrote.
