Anti-war protests in North Caucasus continue
In Rostov, the security forces came with searches to Navalny's associates and opponents of the war
In Rostov-on-Don, several local activists were searched. The security forces came to the human rights activist and former employee of the headquarters of Alexei Navalny (the organisation is considered extremist in Russia and is banned) Tatyana Sporysheva, to the mother of Sergei Grivko, who was the coordinator of the Rostov headquarters, as well as to activists Boris Papayan and Elena Belan who went to anti-war pickets.
Lawyer Yevgeny Berkovich said that the search is being carried out with the sanction of the Pervomaisky District Court of Rostov in the case of the rehabilitation of Nazism, initiated against journalist Sergei Reznik, who emigrated from the country.
"Neither Sporysheva, nor Bilan, nor Papayan have anything to do with this case. The employees of the authorities took advantage of this case to intimidate civil activists and seize all their equipment," the lawyer specified.
Berkovich added that as part of the search, two tablets, phones and a laptop were seized from Sporysheva. Gadgets were also confiscated from other activists. Operations have now been completed.

In Volgograd, security forces detained seven people, in Rostov-on-Don - at least three.

Two residents of Sochi arrested for posting anti-war leaflets
The Central District Court of Sochi considered administrative protocols against local residents Elena Semyonova and Shamsutdin Gadzhiev, who were found guilty of violating the established procedure for holding public events - they posted leaflets calling against Russia's military aggression in Ukraine.
As follows from the materials of the administrative case (available to Kavkaz.Realii), Semenova and Gadzhiyeva pasted up A4 stickers late in the evening "with text containing signs of preliminary campaigning." The stickers were reportedly inscribed with the words "We don't want war, that's enough, go away, you're killing children, you're depriving our brothers and sisters of their homes" and an image of President Putin.
The sanctions of the administrative article assigned to her require a fine of 20 to 30 thousand rubles or up to 10 days of administrative arrest. Federal judge of the Central District Court of Sochi Valery Butyaev sentenced her to the maximum sentence of ten days.

According to the lawyer, they took receipts from the detainees with an obligation to appear in court on March 9, although at that time the administrative materials had not been submitted to the court.
“In fact, the police assumed the functions of the court to notify the persons involved in the case. They came at the indicated time, stood for 40 minutes on the street - due to anti-virus restrictions, the bailiff simply did not let them into court, saying that there were no meetings. And later… they found on the Gosuslugi portal the fine assigned to them, that is, the meetings were held without proper notification," says Romanov.
An activist from Krasnodar who went on pickets emigrated to the USA
Krasnodar resident Ilya Ermachkov and his family moved from Russia to the United States due to pressure from the security forces. Previously, he was twice brought to administrative responsibility for single pickets.
“I didn’t understand how to survive this at all. The police began to come to my house regularly. Guardianship officials began to take an interest in the living conditions of my three children, there was a possibility of their removal. They would have opened a criminal case," Yermachkov said.
Already after leaving the country, he began to receive calls from the police department with a demand to appear for preventive registration and the security forces questioned his neighbours.
The Krasnodar citizen flew from Russia to another country, where he applied to the US Embassy with a request for asylum, so he got there even without obtaining a visa.
Three residents of Taganrog were fined twice for single-person pickets against the war
The city court of Taganrog in the Rostov region found three activists guilty of violating the established procedure for holding a public event and discrediting the actions of the Russian armed forces, imposing heavy fines on them.

The police arrived at our house on the morning of March 6. The pickets were single, we just replaced each other," Kavkaz said. He asked not to be named.
They were holding a poster "Russians, do you want to bury your son for 7,421,000 rubles???" - this is the amount Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed as payment to all family members of servicemen who died during the hostilities in Ukraine.

"We do not agree with the protocol and the court's decision, because we believe that citizens exercised their constitutional right. The court's decision will be challenged in the appellate instance," lawyer Zaitsev added.
