Archbishop Galstanyan Calls for Removal of of Armenian Leadership, Calls Pashinyan 'Antichrist'
On July 14, during a meeting with citizens in Abovyan, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the Tavush for Homeland movement and Primate of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, stated that the protest is progressing on a "tortuous" path, but with the unchanged goal of achieving the removal of the current leadership "by all possible means."
Bagrat Galstanyan described his efforts as a struggle against "the Antichrist and the Devil," who he believes is embodied in the country's leadership and resides in the first government building. "We have come with the agenda of reconciliation, love, honor and dignity, with the agenda of eradicating hatred and enmity, restoring the homeland, gaining an identity and preserving the sense of dignity in the ranks of the nation," he said, referring to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as the "Antichrist."
The archbishop stressed that his movement is undergoing a process of purification, which he sees as a positive development. "Perhaps this is how the Lord wants us to achieve the final result of victory through narrow doors rather than wide ones," he suggested.
Furthermore, Galstanyan claimed that government officials regularly invite fortune tellers to their homes. He said, "Maybe they are not from Armenia either, but we will find out later, and what I am saying is true, it is authentic. They know it too, that's why their spouses are confused, that's why they are forcibly sent to ride bicycles, sent to the regions to travel".
