On February 7, during his official visit to the Kingdom of Norway, Ararat Mirzoyan, the Foreign Minister of Armenia, held a series of important meetings with Norwegian officials and institutions.

In a tête-à-tête meeting with Espen Barth Eide, the Foreign Minister of Norway, the two discussed the current and future prospects of bilateral relations, regional security, and Armenia's peace agenda in the South Caucasus. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized Armenia's commitment to peace and its desire to deepen ties with Nordic-Baltic countries, including Norway. Eide reaffirmed Norway’s support for Armenia’s European aspirations, noting the country's clear leadership and strategic direction under challenging circumstances.

Later on February 7, Minister Mirzoyan visited the Fridtjof Nansen Institute, where he honored Nansen's legacy, particularly his humanitarian efforts for Armenian refugees following the genocide. Mirzoyan praised Nansen's humanitarian contributions and reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to human dignity and solidarity principles. Discussions at the Institute also touched on expanding scientific cooperation between Armenia and Norway, including opportunities within the framework of Armenia's hosting of the UN Biodiversity Conference.

Additionally, Minister Mirzoyan met with members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Norwegian Parliament, where he emphasized the shared values between Armenia and Norway, including a strong commitment to democracy. He also presented Armenia’s vision for peace and regional cooperation, including the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative.

On the same day, he engaged with experts from the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, discussing security issues in the South Caucasus and Armenia’s foreign policy diversification. Mirzoyan stressed that ensuring stability and peace in the region is central to Armenia's foreign policy, grounded in the respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Furthermore, Minister Mirzoyan met with Thorbjørn Jagland, former Secretary General of the Council of Europe and former Prime Minister of Norway. During their meeting, Mirzoyan awarded Jagland the Order of Honor of the Republic of Armenia, recognizing his contributions to Armenian democracy and strengthening bilateral ties. Jagland shared a personal anecdote involving a Nansen passport, which deepened his connection to Armenia and emphasized the importance of the Council of Europe's support in Armenia's transition to a Parliamentary Republic. The two also exchanged views on regional developments.
