Armenia And Russia Review Bilateral Cooperation And EAEU Agenda in Yerevan
On August 20, Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, received Alexey Overchuk, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, to discuss issues related to the bilateral agenda between Armenia and Russia. During the meeting, the interlocutors reviewed the dynamics of trade turnover, the progress of joint programs, and current cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). They also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
On the same day, the government hosted a meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Armenia and Russia, Mher Grigoryan, the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, and Alexey Overchuk, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia. Following a one-on-one conversation, an expanded discussion was held, during which the sides examined the implementation of agreements from the protocol of the 23rd meeting of the commission and discussed issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda. At the beginning of the meeting, Grigoryan expressed gratitude to Overchuk for his prompt response and support in ensuring the import of grain from Russia to Armenia through the Upper Lars checkpoint. Both deputy prime ministers highlighted the importance of joint work in trade and economic relations, transport, energy, and customs. They also underlined the significance of cooperation within the EAEU and emphasized the importance of unblocking regional communications based on full respect for the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, and reciprocity of states.
