In an interview with Armenpress on the evening of 27 March, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Ani Badalyan clarified the purpose of the upcoming high-level trilateral meeting scheduled for 5 April in Brussels. She stressed that the meeting is dedicated to strengthening Armenia's cooperation with the European Union and the United States, and is not directed against any third party.

Responding to concerns expressed by the Azerbaijani side regarding the inclusiveness of the meeting, Badalyan reiterated Armenia's commitment to constructive engagement in the negotiation process. She underlined Armenia's readiness to sign a peace treaty, demarcate the border and open regional communications without delay, based on principles previously agreed with Azerbaijan.

Badalyan outlined three key principles agreed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the mutual recognition of sovereignty and territorial integrity, the delimitation and demarcation of borders on the basis of existing agreements, and the unblocking of regional communications based on sovereignty and jurisdiction.

Badalyan also expressed disappointment with Azerbaijan's actions, accusing it of delaying and undermining the peace process and rejecting EU and US mediation proposals. She highlighted Azerbaijan's attempts to exclude Armenia from regional projects and obstruct its participation in initiatives such as the Black Sea Submarine Electric Cable project.

Commenting on her expectations for the Armenia-EU meeting, Badalyan stressed its importance for discussing bilateral agendas and issues related to Armenia-US relations. She expected substantive discussions on political dialogue, economic and energy cooperation, and humanitarian issues facing Armenia. Badalyan reiterated that the meeting is aimed at developing and deepening existing relations and is not directed against any particular country. She dismissed allegations to the contrary as unfounded and inappropriate.
