Armenian President Sees Syunik Road as Catalyst for Development
During a working meeting in Kapan on July 29, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan stated that opening communications through Syunik, often referred to as the "Zangezur corridor," would create significant development opportunities for Armenia. Khachaturyan emphasized, "Syunik will become the gate to Armenia's development". He added, "If we can open the gates of Syunik, I mean the possibilities of the 43 km road, then rest assured that great opportunities will appear in terms of development in the future".
The president noted that the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, promoted by the Armenian government, has received a positive international response. "It is attractive to everyone... when you put what you have on the table and figuratively imagine the opportunities that are opening up, you understand how important these 43 km and Syunik are," Khachaturyan stated. He also reiterated Armenia’s goal of concluding a peace agreement with Baku in the near future.
