On December 9, in response to the appeals received by Ukraine, Azerbaijan sent humanitarian aid consisting of basic electrical equipment to the people of Ukraine to restore the stable supply of electricity to the affected areas due to the current situation, the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan reported.

The truck convoy carrying the first part of 45 power transformers and 50 generators provided by "Azerenerji" OJSC departed from the territory of Gobu Energy Junction on December 10 with the participation of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan and representatives of "Azerenerji" OJSC.

"To fully deliver the humanitarian cargo, the total amount of which is approximately 1 million 422 thousand manats, it is planned to leave the second truck convoy in the next few days", the information stated.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the total amount of humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan in connection with the crisis in Ukraine is already close to 30 million manats [EUR 16.7 million]. In addition, during the last six months, various organizations have provided humanitarian aid services to the people of Ukraine.

Georgia

On the same day, Irakli Garibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, decided to send generators to Ukraine as humanitarian relief for the people there.

The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development will soon complete the assignment, the Governmental Administration reported.

Revaz Javelidze, the head of the Governmental Administration, noted that the Georgian government has never forgotten about its Ukrainian allies since the start of the war.

"Georgia leads among the countries that have provided humanitarian aid to this state. I would like to mention the support that the state continues today. 26,000 citizens of Ukraine, who currently live on the territory of Georgia, receive appropriate financial support, as well as appropriate support in the educational and medical direction; 2345 young people currently study at different schools in Georgia, including 1565 in the Ukrainian language. Over 900 people were provided with medical support within the framework of referral programs in various medical institutions," the official stated.

"As of December 1, the approximate support provided by the state to the citizens of Ukraine amounts to 32 million GEL [EUR 11.4 million]. Our support has never stopped, and it is not clear why a stir was created due to alleged non-consideration of various proposals that entered various agencies of Georgia, including the Governmental Administration. We are studying all these proposals in detail. According to the Prime Minister's instructions, specifically regarding the generators, the corresponding purchase will be made by the Ministry of Economy. The appropriate support and the requested equipment will be sent to our Ukrainian friends," Javelidze said.
