Azerbaijan and Netherlands Hold Political Consultations in The Hague
On June 24, political consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands took place in The Hague. The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Fariz Rzayev, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, while the Dutch side was led by Marcel de Vink, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Netherlands.
During the consultations, the parties reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation. They emphasized the importance of maintaining regular political dialogue through official visits, continuous contacts, and meetings held on the sidelines of international events. The discussions also focused on expanding economic cooperation, with both sides exchanging views on priority areas for future collaboration. They highlighted the role of cooperation in culture, science, and education in fostering stronger ties between the peoples of the two countries.
Rzayev also briefed the Dutch side on the current regional situation, the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, and ongoing reconstruction, restoration, and demining efforts in the territories liberated from occupation. In addition, the delegations exchanged views on regional and international issues, discussed cooperation within multilateral platforms, and considered mutual support for candidacies in international organizations, along with other issues of shared interest. As part of his visit to the Netherlands, Rzayev also held meetings with several Dutch officials and participated in a roundtable discussion organized by leading think tanks.
