On December 28, Anne Bouillon, the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan, was summoned to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a protest note addressed to the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs was presented to the other side, the Press Office of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported.

It is stated in the information that during the meeting, against the background of the lack of a necessary response from the French government, deep concern was expressed about the expansion and continuation of the campaign based on open slander and prejudice against Azerbaijan by various French political forces. The allegations contained in the letter were firmly rejected.

"In this context, a few days ago, in a letter addressed to the French President on behalf of the leaders of the political forces represented in the French Parliament, it was stated that it is unacceptable to make groundless accusations against Azerbaijan and to call for steps to be taken in the nature of an attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country. It was emphasized that this is the continuation of a series of purposeful and systematic anti-Azerbaijani measures and statements, including the adoption of resolutions full of accusations. The Azerbaijani side drew attention to the need to take appropriate measures to immediately stop the campaign against Azerbaijan carried out by the French government," the Press Service stated.

Notably, on December 27, Le Monde newspaper published the appeal of 11 parliamentarians and political leaders representing different political forces in France to President Emmanuel Macron. "Emmanuel Macron should do everything possible to ensure the security of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Armenians of the Republic of Armenia," the appeal stated.

Also, on November 30, the Lower House of the French Parliament adopted another resolution critical of Azerbaijan. The French government said that the resolution does not reflect the official position of the government, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan rejected the resolution.
