Brussels Talks Between Armenian PM and Azerbaijani President Postponed
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will not hold fresh talks in Brussels in late October, EU Special Representative for South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar said on Wednesday.
As reported, this cancellation is attributed to a lack of time. However, EU Special Representative for South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar stated that efforts are underway to organize a new meeting in Brussels, and the EU remains hopeful that a document will eventually be signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan stated that there are working details that need clarifications from EU partners in the coming days.
“Such a meeting is planned. But now the statement and the fact are that it will not take place in October, and I assume that the reason is that the president of Azerbaijan has not confirmed his participation in that meeting. There are also working details that we will try to get clarifications from our EU partners in the coming days and determine the future courses of action, including several questions you mentioned. Of course, we have some answers to some questions, but I would not like to rush to make an assessment about all of them,” he added.
