The government stated that the organisation of efforts to counteract the new wave of the pandemic is ineffective in eight Russian regions, half of which are the North Caucasian republics - Kabardino-Balkaria, Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia and Dagestan. This was announced at a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordination Council under the Russian government.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Russia additionally gave 794 million dollars to medical institutions and instructed the regional authorities to ensure vaccination and testing on non-working days.
