
Nordic-Baltic Delegation Meets Armenian Leaders to Discuss Regional Cooperation and Peace

On June 3, 2025, during a regional visit to the South Caucasus, Political Directors and representatives from the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, and members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of Armenia’s National Assembly.
Meeting with Vahagn Khachaturyan
President Vahagn Khachaturyan welcomed a delegation of senior officials from the Nordic and Baltic countries. During the meeting, Khachaturyan emphasized the importance of the partnership between Armenia and the Nordic-Baltic states, rooted in historical ties, mutual friendship, and shared democratic values. He noted that the established cooperation among the Nordic and Baltic countries could serve as a model for fostering collaboration among South Caucasus nations.
Khachaturyan expressed optimism about achieving lasting peace in the region, which he believes would enable broader and more robust cooperation among South Caucasus countries. He reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to upholding and strengthening democratic values despite challenging regional circumstances.
Meeting with Nikol Pashinyan
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted representatives from the foreign ministries of the Nordic-Baltic Eight. Pashinyan welcomed the delegation and highlighted the active political dialogue between Armenia and the Nordic-Baltic countries in recent years, marked by several high-level mutual visits. He emphasized that cooperation is advancing within the framework of Armenia’s ongoing democratic reforms, particularly through the exchange of expertise and the strengthening of institutional capacities.
Addressing Armenia-EU relations, Pashinyan noted that both sides are developing a new cooperation agenda to provide fresh momentum for expanding multi-sectoral ties. During the meeting, he responded to questions on various topics, including the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, border demarcation efforts, regional developments, the advancement of Armenia-EU cooperation, and issues of international significance.
