De-facto Ministry of Justice of Separatist South Ossetia Plans to Revoke Registration of Former Ruling United Ossetia Party
The de-facto Ministry of Justice of the separatist South Ossetia/Tskhinvali Region intends to revoke the registration of the United Ossetia party, the party of Anatoly Bibilov, the former de-facto President of South Ossetia.
The Ministry of Justice began work on an appeal to the Supreme Court to suspend its activities due to the party's failure to comply with the requirements of the law, including the failure to provide financial reports to the Ministry of Justice.
"At the beginning of the year, we repeatedly warned public organizations, and above all political parties, about the need to timely submit the reports required by law to the Ministry of Justice. The week before last, we sent official warnings to three political parties with an order to submit consolidated financial statements by April 21, which, by law, should have been submitted by April 10. The deadline has passed, but so far, only one political party has not fulfilled the duty established by law and the legal requirements of the Ministry of Justice - this is the United Ossetia political party," Oleg Gagloev, the de-facto head of the Ministry of Justice of South Ossetia, said.
According to him, some citizens and bloggers may become hysterical. However, the Minister said, "From today, the Ministry of Justice starts to study the issue of applying to the Supreme Court to suspend the activities of the United Ossetia political party in connection with the latter's violation of the legislation of the Republic of South Ossetia."
Notably, South Ossetia is already preparing for the 2024 parliamentary elections.
