On July 3, Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister of Armenia, held a meeting in Tehran with Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the talks, Pashinyan once again expressed condolences over the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, noting that Armenia shares the grief of the Iranian people. Pezeshkian thanked Pashinyan for traveling to Tehran to attend the official farewell ceremony and stated that Iran highly appreciates the position of the Armenian government, as well as the humanitarian support provided during a difficult period. He also congratulated Pashinyan on his victory in the parliamentary elections, expressing confidence that bilateral relations would continue to develop and strengthen steadily. The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments, emphasizing the importance of consistent steps aimed at reinforcing peace, stability, and broader regional cooperation. The discussions highlighted mutual interest in maintaining constructive engagement between Armenia and Iran. Pashinyan also participated in the official farewell ceremony for Ali Khamenei at the Mosalla Mosque in Tehran, where he paid tribute to his memory, extended condolences to the Iranian leadership, including Pezeshkian and First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, and signed the book of condolences.
