DFC Approves TRIPP Development Company Within $2.5 Billion Strategic Investment Package

The board of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has approved the creation of the TRIPP Development Company (TDC), a US–Armenia joint venture, as part of a $2.5 billion package of strategic investments aimed at strengthening US supply chains, supporting regional stability, and advancing American economic interests.

According to the DFC, the new company will back trade, transport, and economic development projects while improving international, inter-state, and intra-state connectivity. It builds on the August 2025 peace declaration between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the subsequent Framework Agreement on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).

The TDC is expected to help deliver key infrastructure projects, including railways, roads, pipelines, fiber-optic networks, and other transport and connectivity initiatives.

DFC Chief Executive Officer Ben Black said the approved investments mark a new strategic direction for the agency. “The investments approved in today’s successful board meeting will develop critical infrastructure in Southeast Asia, increase U.S. access to critical minerals, and build the flagship Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) Development Company to further peace,” Black said.

He added that the DFC is “acting with the creativity and confidence worthy of a best-in-class financial institution” and described the projects as advancing “a new era of strength, growth, and goodwill for America’s partners.”

TRIPP aims to deepen regional economic cooperation and connectivity in the South Caucasus while underpinning long-term peace and development. Approval of the TDC is one of the first major steps to implement the TRIPP framework agreement between Armenia and the United States.
