Droa, Strategy Aghmashenebeli, and Girchi Start National Liberation Movement
On January 23, leaders of the political parties "Droa," "Strategy Aghmashenebeli," and "Girchi-More Freedom" gathered on Rustaveli Avenue to announce the beginning of a new "national liberation movement," which they claim will lead to the elimination of "collaborationism" and the restoration of the people's once-usurped power. On February 24, they want to host a symbolic show of support for the Ukrainian people.
Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of the Strategy Aghmashenebeli party, stated that the Georgian government had broken the constitution and was disobeying the will of the Georgian people for a future in Europe. "They [the administration] are arguing that maintaining a close relationship with Russia is preferable to fortifying Georgia alongside the industrialized world. We cannot put up with it," he continued.
Elene Khoshtaria, the leader of the Droa party, said that everyone present at the meeting shared the values of Georgia's dignity, European viewpoint, independence, and freedom. She also said that the "bad Russia," which has no future, and the countries with a developed future are separated by the date of February 24.
"On February 24, we must once more show the world that, despite disagreements, errors, and divisions, we can come together to say that Georgia has a future of European growth (standard) and that Georgia will not revert to the past," she added.
