On October 10, a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was sealed between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates in Dubai. The document was endorsed by Georgia's Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili, and Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Trade.

The Georgian Economy Minister expressed enthusiasm about the pact, identifying it as a robust base for enhancing trade and investment ties between the nations. The agreement facilitates trade in commodities and services, granting Georgia access to a consumer base of 10 million in the UAE. The agreement will allow 97.5% of Georgian exports to enter the UAE without customs duties. The deal also encompasses service trade and other related trade sectors.

The Georgian Economy Ministry's press statement highlighted that the UAE's trade minister recognized the well-established trade and economic bond between both countries, stressing the rising trade volume. The Vice Prime Minister emphasized Georgia's appeal to Arab enterprises and its significant trade pacts with the EU and China.

The announcement conveyed optimism that the pact would boost trade, spur economic growth, and tap into latent potential. The brisk pace of the talks concluded in just three sessions indicates a fervent desire to fortify the mutual relationship. The dialogue also touched upon broadening collaboration in fields like tourism, IT, energy, transport, innovation, communications, and mining.

The Prime Ministers of Georgia and the UAE virtually participated in the signing event. Irakli Garibashvili, the Georgian Prime Minister, thanked the UAE's president for fostering the alliance, underscoring the UAE's long-standing pioneering spirit in innovation and progress, which he sees as a beacon of hope and optimism for the future.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE's Vice President, Prime Minister, and Dubai's Ruler, lauded the deal as a pivotal moment in the UAE-Georgia relationship, carving out prospects for both nations. He remarked on the UAE's enduring commitment to strengthening and sustainably developing ties with Georgia.
