He outlined plans to tackle inflation, deport undocumented migrants with criminal records, and designate foreign criminal gangs as terrorist organizations. On January 20, Narek Mkrtchyan, the Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, attended the Newsmax Media inaugural reception at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, marking the inauguration of US President Donald Trump. Mkrtchyan participated in the event as the foreign relations chief of the Civil Contract party. In a social media post, he mentioned meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Newsmax Media CEO Christopher Ruddy, Patrick Orlando, and other prominent officials and foreign dignitaries. Armenian Ambassador to the US, Lilit Makunts, was also present at the reception.
Azerbaijan
On January 21, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Donald Trump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States and expressed confidence in further strengthening bilateral relations.
Aliyev wished Trump success in his "future responsible state activities for the welfare of the friendly American people" and emphasized the importance of his role in promoting global peace and strengthening international security. Highlighting the longstanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the US in combating global challenges, terrorism, and other threats, Aliyev noted the alignment of their national security interests.
The Azerbaijani President praised US-Azerbaijan cooperation in the energy sector, underscoring its solid foundations and tradition of mutual benefit, and acknowledged Trump’s consistent support for Azerbaijan's energy policy. He expressed his intention to continue active collaboration with the US in both traditional and emerging areas of partnership based on mutual trust.
Aliyev concluded his message by expressing hope that the friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and the United States would deepen and gain new dimensions during Trump’s presidency.
Georgia
Regarding her attendance at US President Donald Trump's inauguration, Georgia's fifth President, Salome Zourabichvili, stated, "At this very important event, I represented Georgia, the Georgian public, and the entire population. I plan to hold meetings necessary to place our relations on the right track." She emphasized the significance of the US-Georgia relationship, calling the United States a true friend of Georgia and expressing her pleasure in attending the inauguration. Zourabichvili highlighted that her presence was not just as an individual but as a representative of Georgia and its people.
Kobakhidze also referenced the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, highlighting his ambitious plan to defeat the "deep state" and its potential impact on Georgia-US relations. The Prime Minister expressed hope that Trump's victory would help ensure global peace and correct values, signaling Georgia's readiness to reset relations with the US. He also underlined the importance of addressing radicalism and liberal fascism, which he believed hindered the country's development.
