Georgian Official Calls EU a "War Party" on Ukraine Conflict
On November 24, Giorgi Volsky, the First Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, stated that the European Union had become a "war party" opposing efforts to end the fighting in Ukraine.
Volsky argued that the Brussels bureaucracy refused to accept conditions for ending the war and described Washington’s proposed peace agreement as a pragmatic initiative aimed at preventing further destruction and casualties. He stated that "the Brussels bureaucracy is a ‘war party,’ which refuses to agree to ending the war under these conditions," adding that this made the US proposal unacceptable to them. He emphasized that, in his view, the EU bureaucracy, rather than Ukraine, was positioned to decide whether the war would continue. Volsky also stated that Ukraine previously had an opportunity to sign a peace treaty with Russia but was prevented from doing so.
