Georgian Officials on Tbilisi's Support for Ukraine
Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine: "Georgia will receive more Ukrainian youngsters in November"
Giorgi Zakarashvili, the Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine, said that Georgia expects to host another group of Chernihiv-based Ukrainian youth in November this year.
According to the Ambassador, the initiative would be carried out with help from the Georgian Parliament. "We are currently buying tickets for this group, which has already been formed," Zakarashvili said.
Earlier, the Georgian government hosted 50 Ukrainian children and their parents this summer in Adjara.
Vice-President of the Parliament: "Georgia completely backs international criticism towards Russia"
At the PACE fall session in Strasbourg, Georgia's Vice-Speaker Levan Ioseliani stated that Georgia supports international criticism against Russia.
Ioseliani focused on Russian aggression and emphasized the UN Resolution of October 9, 2022, noting that only five nations did not ratify the resolution and that Russia is on the wrong side of history. He emphasized to the assembly members that Georgia had previously experienced Russian aggression and that the Georgian people favor the resolution from the UN and Council of Europe (CoE).
He asserts that it is difficult for a nation that has experienced Russian aggression and the takeover of territory to be silent about it. "The Georgian population's unwavering desire to be a vital part of Europe was mentioned in Georgia's entry into the EU," Ioseliani concluded.
