After the meeting with the chairperson and members of the High Council of Justice on April 10, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili said that during his government's rule, the court has become independent and free from any interference, both internal and from other countries - any interference or any influence on the judges is unacceptable.

The Prime Minister expressed his support to the judges and said that the government would do everything to protect the independence and freedom of the court. "During our rule, the court has become independent and free from any interference - both domestic and foreign. Of course, any interference or any influence on the judges is unacceptable. This is absolutely unacceptable to me, especially for a sovereign court and judges of a sovereign country. I also assured the judges of our full support. We will do our best to protect the independence of the judiciary and freedom from any interference and pressure; this is our stated policy and the main goal we strive for. In the last ten years, we have carried out fundamental reforms in the court to make the court what it is today - independent, free from any interference," Irakli Gharibashvili said.

"I am proud of our court, I am proud of all the judges," he added

Responding to the US designation of Georgian judges, the official stressed, "We have not seen any evidence for this decision. This decision raises a big question mark for me. It is unfortunate and incomprehensible."

The Prime Minister hopes that the truth will be revealed. "I think the truth will be revealed. We will talk to our partners, and no question will be left unanswered," the Prime Minister said.
