| News, Economy, North Caucasus

Speaking with an annual report on the main directions of the socio-economic development of the region on April 19, Sergey Menyaylo, the head of North Ossetia, said that the authorities began the practical part of the work on transferring the property complex and the site of the Electrozinc plant to the ownership of the republic.

"We plan to place new production facilities on this territory," Menyaylo said. "In Vladikavkaz and in the republic as a whole, there are a lot of industrial areas that are idle today for one reason or another," he noted.

"Let’s say the closed Electrozinc plant is 64 hectares within the city and more than 430 thousand square meters. Therefore, we are already working with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Economic Development on this issue to draw these industrial lands into circulation. Where this is not possible, create appropriate public spaces or build housing," Menyaylo said.

Moreover, Menyaylo stated that from the first day of the start of the special operation, the people of North Ossetia joined in solving the tasks set by the President of Russia. "The main goal of my frequent trips to the special operation zone is to personally make sure that the guys are in order, that they have everything they need. The republic completely took over the supply of our volunteer detachments from extra-budgetary funds," the head of North Ossetia added.

The head of the republic thanked the residents of North Ossetia for their support of the Russo-Ukrainian War participants. "Fighters know how much you care about them," he said. Menyaylo also noted that many fighters from Ossetia received high state awards.

"A separate area of work this year will be the rehabilitation and resocialization of servicemen and volunteers. To do this, special services are being created based on sanatoriums, as well as on the site of the Center for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled," Sergei Menyaylo concluded.
