Ilia Darchiashvili Receives High Officials from Saudi Arabia, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania

Meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

On October 21, Ilia Darchiashvili, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, held an introductory meeting with Salman Abdulrahman Al Sheikh, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Press Office of the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.

The Minister congratulated the Ambassador on starting the diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished him success in his future activities. 

The parties discussed the measures planned to deepen cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of exchanging high-level and high-level visits. Special attention was paid to the issues of trade, economy, and the activation of interaction in the field of investment attraction in Georgia.

Meeting with chairpersons of the foreign relations committees of the parliaments of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania

On the same day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili held a meeting with Marko Mihkelson, Rihards Kols, and Laima Andrikienė, the chairpersons of the Foreign Relations Committees of the Parliaments of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Darchiashvili emphasized the irreversibility of the reforms implemented by Georgia in the direction of European integration. Emphasis was placed on the progress achieved in implementing EU recommendations and plans.

In the context of Euro-Atlantic integration, the conversation touched on the NATO summit scheduled for next year in Vilnius. Ilia Darchiashvili emphasized the progress achieved by Georgia in terms of NATO integration. Georgia's expectations regarding the summit and the importance of the Baltic countries' support were mentioned.

The parties discussed the current security situation in the region. Particular emphasis was placed on the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, the importance of the Geneva negotiations, and the peace policy of the Georgian government. The importance of keeping the issue of Georgia on the international agenda was also emphasized.

Marko Mihkelson, Rihards Kols, and Laima Andrikienė confirmed their strong support for Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and foreign policy priorities.
