On June 1, Irakli Garibashvili, the Prime Minister of Georgia, visited Moldova for the second European Political Community (EPC) Summit. The prime minister attended bilateral talks and participated in topical roundtable sessions throughout the summit.

The prime minister stated that the Georgian side would emphasize the issues the nation is experiencing during the summit. He called attention to the Georgian territory that Russia has taken in this respect, stating that this is one of Georgia's main challenges. "Unfortunately, we are not a part of the European Union or NATO, and we most definitely lack a security edifice and guarantees. Our goal is to guarantee that our nation is unified and that our country is peacefully de-occupied," he added. The PM added: "Our policy is a peaceful one, we have kept the peace, deepened peace, and we are guiding our country to the reunion. Our administration is trying its best to accomplish this magnificent objective as quickly as possible."

Additionally, he mentioned that one of the summit's debate themes would be Georgia's perspective from the European Union. He emphasized, "I will express our position that Georgia is ready to receive candidate status, and of course, our country deserves the status, it has no alternative, and this is the only right decision that our European partners should make."

In response to a question concerning Nagorno-Karabakh, the Georgian PM said: "Georgia's position and role are very neutral and impartial in the context of strengthening stability and peace in our region." He emphasized that Georgia has very good relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia. "After the violent confrontation between Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2021, Georgia effectively served as a mediator. We are in favor of the talks and conversation leading to peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The interests of Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, as well as the whole region, are served," the prime minister said.
