| News, Politics, Azerbaijan

At a briefing held on October 9, Nasser Kanaani, the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, stated, "There is a consensus on the opening of Azerbaijan's embassy in Tehran, and soon the embassy will start operating."

"Iran and Azerbaijan agree that the latter can resume the activity of its embassy on the basis of the agreement reached between the two sides," Kanaani noted.

In addition, commenting on the visit of Azerbaijani officials to Iran, the spokesman said that it was a continuation of the talks between high-ranking officials of the two countries regarding the political and economic spheres and the events taking place in the South Caucasus: "There were good discussions and consultations."

Kanaani also said that Iran is ready to help Azerbaijan and Armenia.

On January 29, Azerbaijan closed its embassy in Tehran and evacuated the staff and their families amid spiraling tensions after a gunman stormed the diplomatic mission, killing the security chief and wounding two other guards.
