Kadyrov Declares Blood Feud Against Dagestani Senator and Two MPs
On October 9, during a meeting, Ramzan Kadyrov, the Head of Chechnya, stated: "There are people who are trying to give this issue an ethnic tint, claiming that the instigators of the conflict are allegedly Kadyrovites. I appeal to all those stirring up this matter. If anyone has complaints about the Kadyrovites, let them express them to me personally, since I am the main Kadyrovit. Anyone who thinks they can pit entire ethnic groups against each other over domestic issues is deeply mistaken. People must be responsible for their words! If there are any questions for me, I have no problem with that. I'm waiting!"
While addressing the events surrounding Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, Kadyrov specifically mentioned Senator Suleiman Kerimov, along with parliamentarians Bekkhan Barakhoyev and Rizvan Kurbanov. Kadyrov alleged: “There are witnesses, there are people from whom they placed the order, asking how much it would cost to arrange the elimination of the head of Chechnya.” Moreover, Kadyrov accused Senator Suleiman Kerimov from Dagestan, along with State Duma deputies Bekkhan Barakhoyev and Rizvan Kurbanov, of involvement in a shooting at the Wildberries office. He also declared a blood feud against all three.
Notably, the incident at the Wildberries headquarters on September 18 resulted in a shootout, leaving two residents of Ingushetia, Adam Almazov and Islambek Elmurziev, dead. They were accompanying Vladislav Bakalchuk, who owns 1% of the company, as he attempted to enter the premises. Their bodies were later received at Magas Airport in a large funeral event. In July, Bakalchuk had approached Kadyrov for help in resolving his issues with Wildberries, claiming that his divorce from his wife was linked to a hostile takeover of the company. Kadyrov assigned State Duma MP Adam Delimkhanov to handle the matter.
Kadyrov publicly demanded proof from the parliamentarians that they were not involved in the alleged assassination attempt on him, which he connected to a shootout that occurred on September 18 outside the Wildberries office in Moscow. "Not only are they trying to take away this woman’s business [referring to Wildberries owner Tatyana Bakalchuk], but they also attempted to order my murder. I kept silent about it. But now I officially declare that I will pursue a blood feud against Barakhoyev, Kerimov, and Kurbanov if they do not prove their non-involvement. Why? Because I am Caucasian, I am Chechen," Kadyrov declared.
