Kakha Kaladze: Georgia Deserves EU Candidacy, Calls for Fair Decision

| News, Politics, Georgia

On June 12, Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream Kakha Kaladze said, "The Georgian authorities are doing everything to fulfill the 12-point plan and are taking concrete steps. By the end of June, everything will be done and done. What do you mean you can't get it? Is it already stated? A 12-point plan was presented, we fulfilled it, and I am sure we will get the status we deserved."

According to him, if any country deserved to be among the countries that received the status of an EU candidate in 2022, it is first of all Georgia. "According to all the data, we were ahead of other countries. Unfortunately, an unfair and politically motivated decision was made, and this decision was aimed at using him for riots within the country," the official said.

He expressed hope that this time the decision would be fair. "If an unfair political decision is made again, as it was before, to use it in the country incorrectly, then it is up to them to decide, but the population of our country will see all this. I do not want the unfair decision to cause disappointment and skepticism towards Europe among the population of our country," Kaladze concluded.
