Kremlin Declines to Comment on Kadyrov's Murder Accusations Against State Officials

On October 16, the Kremlin declined to comment on a statement made by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, who accused a senator and two State Duma deputies of plotting to murder him.
Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov remarked, "We do not comment on this situation. If there are any threats, any citizen should appeal to law enforcement agencies, which will take the necessary measures in accordance with the law. There are no further comments to be made."
As previously reported by Caucasus Watch, on October 9, Kadyrov addressed ethnic tensions related to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer. He denied claims of Kadyrovite involvement in the conflict and accused Senator Suleiman Kerimov and State Duma deputies Bekkhan Barakhoyev and Rizvan Kurbanov of plotting his assassination. Kadyrov declared a blood feud against them if they failed to prove their innocence, following a shootout on September 18 that left two people dead.
