Major Political Appointments in Separatist Abkhazia

On September 5, Aslan Bzhania, the de-facto President of separatist Abkhazia, signed a decree appointing Abesalom Kvarchiya as head of the presidential administration.
Sokhumi businessman Abesalom Kvarchiya was a member of the Public Chamber of Abkhazia and was represented by the "Union of Industrialists, Agrarians and Entrepreneurs of Abkhazia."
Moreover, Aslan Bzhania relieved Sergey Pustovalov from the post of the de-facto republic's Deputy Prime Minister. Sergei Pustovalov held the position of Deputy Prime Minister since 2020.
Furthermore, the de-facto Abkhazian Foreign Ministry denied information about the resignation of Inal Ardzinba, the head of the ministry.
"The reports circulating about the alleged resignation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia Inal Ardzinba do not correspond to reality. The work of the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia continues in a normal mode," the ministry said.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Telegram channel Legitimate reported about Ardzinba's resignation from the post of Foreign Minister and his return to Moscow. On the evening of September 4, the Abkhazian outlets confirmed this information. According to them, Ardzinba announced to the ministry staff that he was leaving the post of minister and returning to Russia.
