Pashinyan criticizes Azerbaijan for breaking promises twice

On October 3, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Azerbaijan twice promised to return the Armenian prisoners, but both times it did not fulfill its promise.

"Azerbaijan refuses to fulfill its promise to release Armenian prisoners of war for the second time," the head of the Armenian government noted. 

According to him, the first case was in May, when a corresponding promise was made at the negotiations in Brussels, and the second was recent when in Washington, Azerbaijan undertook to release 17 Armenian prisoners of war by September 30.

"Arms contracts were not fulfilled"

At a meeting of the republic's government, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan touched upon the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

"In all areas where possible, the enemy, unfortunately, achieves certain successes, even in relations with our allies. For example, they are trying to prevent the supply of weapons to Armenia. There are cases when deliveries worth hundreds of millions of dollars that have already been paid for are not fulfilled, including by allied countries. This is a sad reality," said the head of the Cabinet. According to him, it is necessary to deeply analyze this situation.

"In any case, I want to state one more reality-all this pursues a far-reaching goal so that we give up our statehood, and our sovereignty and make concessions on the issue of our territorial integrity. Despite all this, we are determined to protect our independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity," Pashinyan emphasized.
