Pashinyan and Mirzoyan Hold Meetings with Russian High-level Officials

Meeting between Ararat Mirzoyan and Igor Khovaev

On February 10, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received Igor Khovaev, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair of the Russian Federation and the Special Representative of Foreign Minister of Russia on issues supporting the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Press Office of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the recent developments regarding the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Ararat Mirzoyan noted that the provocations of the Azerbaijani side, its aspirations towards the sovereign territory of Armenia, and warmongering rhetoric hinder the establishment of peace and stability in the region.

Phone conversation between Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov

On February 10, Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated his Russian colleague on the occasion of the diplomatic worker's day. The foreign ministers discussed regional security and stability issues.

"Referring to the daily deepening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the need for Azerbaijan to unblock the Lachin Corridor as soon as possible," the report added.

The imperative of implementation and unconditional observance of the provisions of the tripartite declarations was emphasized. Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergel Lavrov exchanged ideas on regulating Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. Various issues of the Armenia-Russia bilateral agenda were also discussed during the telephone conversation.

Meeting between Nikol Pashinyan and Igor Khovaev

On February 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Igor Khovaev, the Press Office of the Armenian Prime Minister reported.

"The interlocutors referred to the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh resulted from Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and the steps to overcome it," the report added.

"Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the fact of Azerbaijan's another violation of the trilateral declaration of November 9, 2020, and the need for full implementation of the obligations assumed by the declaration," it stated.

Issues related to the opportunities for normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the Nagorno-Karabakh issue were also discussed.
