Mehriban Rahimli, an adviser for Azerbaijan at the United States German Marshall Fund (GMF), revealed that her personal bank accounts were recently blocked. Rahimli stated, "The measure was based on a court decision related to the investigation into Aziz Orujov, the head of Kanal-13, who is currently in prison." However, Rahimli insisted that he had no connection to the case.

Rahimli clarified that no media programs have been funded by the Marshall Fund since 2018. Even if such programs existed, she questioned the relevance of her accounts to the matter at hand, stating, "But even if there were such programs, what does this have to do with personal accounts?"

On January 18, Rahimli reported that she applied to the Sabail District Court to obtain an official decision on the seizure of his account. However, her request was reportedly rejected. She mentioned that a statement from the bank confirmed the account seizure based on the presentation of the Sabail District Police Department, but it did not specify the grounds for the decision.

Expressing her intention to file an appeal against the court's decision, Rahimli emphasized that she conducts his activities as a consultant for the Marshall Fund in compliance with Azerbaijan's legislation.
