On March 13, Ali Asadov, the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, stated while presenting the Cabinet of Ministers’ 2025 activity report to parliament that Azerbaijan currently exports military products to nearly 20 countries. He emphasized that ensuring sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security remains a key priority of state policy. According to him, expenditures on defense and national security from the state budget reached 8.1 billion manats in 2025, marking an increase of 1.5 billion manats, or 23%, compared to 2024.

He noted that domestic enterprises produced military goods worth 1.4 billion manats last year. "Today, Azerbaijan exports military products to nearly 20 countries," Asadov stated, emphasizing the importance of maintaining achievements in security, strengthening defense capabilities, ensuring border inviolability, and protecting national interests amid the current geopolitical environment. Asadov also stated that 2025 marked a significant stage in strengthening political stability and ensuring steady economic growth in Azerbaijan. He emphasized that the year, declared the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty," represents an important political milestone in reinforcing state sovereignty, advancing the reintegration of recovered territories, and transitioning the national economy to a new phase of development.

He noted that throughout the year, Azerbaijan enhanced its proactive role on regional and global platforms while promoting an agenda of peace and cooperation. According to Asadov, the Washington Summit held on August 8, 2025, with the participation of the leaders of Azerbaijan, the US, and Armenia, created conditions for new geopolitical dynamics in the region and fostered an environment conducive to sustainable peace and development. He stated that one of the key outcomes of the meeting was the foundation for the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), also known as the Zangezur Corridor. Asadov emphasized that this multimodal route will enable uninterrupted connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, while also contributing to the diversification of international transport and transit corridors passing through the country.
