On August 29, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Russia is prepared to continue assisting Yerevan as a crucial partner in enhancing its defense capacity and border security as well as in managing ties with its neighbors. The declaration was made on the 25th anniversary of Armenia and Russia's signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the agreement establishes the values and goals for interstate relations between Russia and Armenia. It was highlighted that the document had grown to be a significant turning point in the process of elevating bilateral cooperation to that of a true alliance. "The past period has convincingly shown that the further strengthening of historical ties between Moscow and Yerevan fully meets the vital interests of our peoples, serves the socio-economic development of both countries, and the goals of strengthening stability in the South Caucasus. We are successfully moving forward in a wide range of cooperation, filling it with concrete content and increasing the effectiveness of interaction," the statement reads.

"We are convinced that the path to stability in the region is the strict observance of the trilateral agreements of November 9, 2020, January 11, and November 26, 2021. The Russian peacekeeping contingent remains a key factor in ensuring security in Nagorno-Karabakh," the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
